My Educational Philosophy
It is my belief that all
students are capable of learning. A child’s learning institution should
be a safe haven, free of prejudices because of race, gender, ethnicity,
social class, and physical or mental disabilities. The educator’s
responsibility is to increase the learning capacity of their students
through inquiry, research, and discussion to satisfy each student’s
learning needs. Students should feel empowered by their environment to
promote their own learning.
Physical education
significantly contributes to students’ well being. Therefore, it is an
instructional priority for Wilder’s Preparatory Academy Charter School
and an integral part of our students’ educational experience. According
to Jack O’Connell, State Superintendent of Education, high quality
physical education instruction contributes to good health, develops
fundamental and advanced motor skills, improves students’
self-confidence, and provides opportunities for increased levels of
physical fitness that are associated with high academic achievement.
